What is really idiotic from A.net is that they don't sell this mission pack in their store.

There are people (like me) who don't have money or credit card problems, personally I spent 36€ on each of my 2 accounts in the online store (but not in the promotion period).

If there's something I consider worth buying, I PAY real cash and BUY, I'm not used to ask anything for free.

A.net always complain they have no money to spend to correct bugs, add new features and so on.
Now they have a product that can be SOLD and what they do? They give it for free to someone who used their shop in a limited period of time.

I don't see anything strange in a free promotion for some "loyal" customers, what is against every business rule is that they have a sellable product and don't sell it.

They should start selling this mission pack asap, if they wait 2-3 months all the excitement for the new shiny things will have disappeared and the today potential buyers will probably be less and less interested.

and the prices were not just a little bit cheaper elsewhere.. were talking 25%. Difference of £7 from Amazon UK and ANET's store, that's $14.

Meh, could have done as I did. I bought two character slots and the GOTY upgrade and that qualified me. It's stuff I can use, and I still got my box AND the BMP.

BMP is such a nice lil addon.Since I missed out on divine aura and dont expect it to be sold in store, I would hate this to be sold again.

Just an FYI... Anet made the terms of this PROMOTION very clear (release dates aside for the moment). You really had a month to realize you wouldn't be playing the BMP when it came out. Now I do hope they make the BMP available to everyone, but guys its just a promotion, there will be others. In fact, I think that something like this will push GW1 along until GW2

Elaborating on that... while anet obviously wanted to make some profit off of the BMP, it was mainly a PROMOTION to encourage use of the online store and to get players enthusiastic about something in guildwars again (not to mention the holiday season).

Yes...its sellable...and they want to give it for free. I dont see why thats inherently evil or wrong.

You see, youre basing your argument all in the wrong places.

What is inherently wrong is that the online store does not work for everyone and not everyone even had the option to get this item for their purchase, as well as the lack of anything to buy!

That was Anet's real failure here.

Giving away something free is cool. Giving away something free without making sure everyone has equal chance, is not.

Damn, Char firestorm owned my team during Saul's mission.

Haven't had a chance to do Gwen or the Togo mission.

Looking forward to getting all my hero's properly equiped now.

I think its because people want it alot, you cant blame them for that. If they gave it away for free it would please everyone alot more except people who wasted money buying character slots for it but to be honest that really is /fail.

A month ? The BMP promotion started in July 5. They had more than one month, they had four !

The promotion was very well known before the release of GW:EN, when PCGamer released its magazine with the Mini Destroyer, all the info was there... and quickly was all on the forum and wiki.

So yeah, /notsigned

All the whinners are too late....too slow.....keep yourselves informed and except if you are a QUAKER (in this case you cannot even play a video game) you could mange it with your parents...relatives...friends...bla,bla.

Can someone answer a few basic questions?

What are the Stats of the weapons? Are they max with no Inscriptions or Mods?

The books and the weapons are both customized, correct? So, the only way to get a weapon is to get it with the character you want to have it?

I'm sure these have been asked, so I apologize for not searching through 23 pages. Thanks!

They are max and inscribable, but comes with no inscription or mods.

Yes. But each mission have 3 discoveries/bonuses which give additional completed books that can be claimed by other characters in your account.

Anet made it insanely clear how to get it, and pretty damn easy too. They gave multiple payment methods & purchase places. Some people chose the box over the BMP. bad choice? Maybe. At least they can brag about having the case & instruction booklet.

So sad how some ppl act so superior because they have acess to a cc, and have acess to BMP... act your dam age.

I for one have acess to both, but i don't feel the need to come to a forum and start making funny of ppl that for some reason couldn't take advantage of the BMP or didn't had acess to a cc at the time.

With at least a year and a half to Guild Wars 2; it is hard to believe that this won't be available for $10 through the online store in a few months. I remember how I was kind of upset when the GOTY edition came out with those bonus max weapons that I had no access to having bought Prophecies a few months after it was released. Then, a short while later- they made the GOTY upgrade pack available online.
